Applying fluid makeup foundation can be rather tricky. After washing your face and hands, you could use clean, dry fingers to spread the makeup evenly over your face down to your jawline. That's what I prefer. It is easier for a very light application of makeup.
What makeup artists recommend though, is the use of a damp makeup sponge.

For that, you
- Dampen a CLEAN makeup sponge with water. Preferably distilled water or spring water. Just let the sponge soak up the water, then squeeze it dry.
- Dot the sponge with your fluid foundation. Squeeze the sponge again to spread the makeup.
- Use the sponge to apply the makeup on your face, like painting a canvas. The flat sides for the surfaces and the edges of the sponge for the corners, sides of you nose and hard to reach areas/li>
- Once dry, use a fluffy face brush and apply a layer of loose powder
- If you like, you could use an eye shadow, about 2 shades darker than your skin tone to contour your face. You need lots of practice to get it right. Basically, to sharpen your nose, apply the shadow on the sides of your nose. Apply the shadow where you want your face to appear narrower. Look at some art pieces. Notice the shading to simulate light and shadows. Do something like that on your face to contour your face.
- Apply a highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones to make them appear higher. You can use a light blusher for that. Apply a darker blush in the hollows of your cheeks.
- What sort of eyes do you want? For sultry eyes, use a dark eye shadow on your eye lids. Apply eye liner along your upper and lower lash line. Apply 2 coats of mascara. (Wait for the first coat to dry before applying the second one) Balance dark eyeshadow with nude or lighter lips
- If you prefer red lips, then go easy on the eyes. A light or neutral eyeshadow would do fine. Maybe use an eye pencil along your lower lash line. Followed by a coat or 2 of mascara
