Foundation Mismatch
Don"t you just hate it when the foundation you just bought looks obviously different from your skin tone when you actually wear it?. Cosmetics companies know of this problem and have come up with all sorts of products to overcome it. One of the latest and most affordable foundations that tackle this mismatch fiasco is Almay Smartshade Makeup. Granted, it is pricier than a normal foundation, but a little goes a long way and according to those who have actually tried this, it blends in with you skin color perfectly. It is on my to buy list, when I next buy makeup, that is.

Another way to correct foundation mismatch is to blend two colors together until they match your skin tone exactly. This technique works especially well in summer or when you get a tan. Your skin tone gets darker and your usual makeup would appear too light. Blend a darker shade of foundation with your regular foundation until it matches your skin tone exactly. If the opposite happens, say in autumn when your tan fades, blend a lighter shade of foundation with your regular foundation until you get a match.

Then there is the problem of too red a foundation, too ashy foundation or too sallow foundation. When you get a foundation, if your skin has yellowish undertones, go for golden shades. If you have olive skin, pick something that has bluish undertones. Redness can be toned down with greens while a color that is too sallow can be toned down with lavender. Too dull skin can be brightened with white. Use makeup bases to compensate.
